Finalised version of FC

This is the finalised version of my magazine front cover. I had forgotten to add a price and change the date and channel of the soap to the same colour as the sub-heading.

Finalised Trailer

Final version of billboard

This is the finalised version of my billboard, I have changed the E4 banner at the bottom after looking at E4 posters and seeing that they all have this style.

Evaluation Question 4

This is showing how I used the technology KEYNOTE when constructing my trailer. I used my product created in keynote as a title card at the beginning of my trailer. The title card is a skyline photo of Manchester City Centre. This works well as my soap is set in the north west of England and is set in Manchester in particular. This creates reginal identity.

Evaluation Question 4

This is a video demonstrating how I used iMovie for my work

This is my blogger dashboard where I can view, edit, share or delete my posts. I find blogger easy to work and I am assure dthta my work will be saved in a secure place. Blogger also makes it easy to adjust dates and times of posts

This is my twitter, using twitter as a technology helped me to connect with my teacher, such as tweeting her the links for my trailers and ancillaries to get feeback from my teacher.
Publisher was a technologyu I used when creating my ancillaries. This is the most effective way to create ancillaries and I knew how to use them from last years coursework of doing a music magazine.

This is the uploader page. This technology has shown me how to upload videos from my imovie and make the video's public so that anyone can see the videos as I have then made them public. The image below is of my channel, this is where all of my uploaded video can be located.

Question 3 audience feedback on billboard ancillary

I was given feedback on this draft billboard. My audeince feedback suggested that I change the background to an alley way or a wall and use the E4 style guide to make the strap and the E4 logo. This was suggested as it would make it look more professional.

Question 3 ancillary audience feedback on front cover plan

I was left this feedback on the plan of my ancillary front cover. This was helpful as it advised me what the audience wants and needs in a front cover.

Gossip Girl Billboard analysis

Gossip girl billboard from aq111969bethany
I analysed a billboard of the popular teen american fantasy soap Gossip Girl to see what genre conventions and cides there were in billboards

Deconstructing Hollyoaks Scene

Deconstructing hollyoaks later from aq111969bethany
This deconstruction was done for the planning stages before creating my ancillaries and my trailer to see what the characters storylines were like in melodramas, costume, mise en scene, lighting and editing

Notes On Posters

  • They should have a narrative that draws the reader in
  • Have information about plot lines and characters
  • They play on the audience's existing knowledge of the soap
  • Has to be catchy, as the audience will only see them for a few seconds

Hollyoaks trailer analysis

  • The dark background suggests with the 'Hollyoaks' title to the audience that it is a dark storyline on this weeks episode. Nikon sponsors Hollyoaks because Nikon knows that teenagers and young people live their life through cameras and are constantly taking pictures so by sponsoring a TV show which is aimed at young people, they are hoping to promote their products and get more people to buy their products as a result.
  • The first scene is shown in two-shot with Paul and Mercedes. Paul dominates the frame, which shows he is dominant in the realtionship.
  • The MES shows that this scene takes place in a house or apartment, with pictures in the background and the casual clothing. Also, there is light coming in from a window which is off camera. All of this shows that this scene takes place in a house or an apartment, possibly the living room.
  • Pauls whole face is in focus, his body turned towards Mercedes' shows that he is in a threatening and crowding manner. Mercedes is in a softer focus, her eyes do not meet his and her hair is hiding her face from him displaying negative body language.
  • The next scene is in a kitchen, which is evident through the MES of tiles and cupboards. It is in an establishing shot, with Mercedes in the focus. Jacqui is looking at Mercedes from a distance. The lighting in this scene is coming from the right and is a yellow light from a lightbulb. The glow from this light is much softer than the light in teh first scene, hinting that Mercedes is safe in this environment.
  • 'Never seen a man so obsessed with me' Mercedes diegetic voice over is shown as Mercedes is shown with her ex, Riley, with Paul watching her. This proves that Mercedes theory that he is 'obsessed' with her is proven.
  • Soundtrack sounds like a heratbeat, which creates suspense in the audience.
  • quick susescion of shots.
  • 'The girl needs help!' bridges from the pub to the office.
  • The office is shown through MES of blinds, wall clock, intray, desk, plant and the fling cabinet.
  • Jacqui is going through what is persumed to be Paul's things. The edit to the reaction shot from Jacqui proves that Paul is bad.
  • ECU detailed shot of Mercedes' phone lets the audience know what the character can see without actually showing a POV shot. 5 missed calls from Jacqui indicates that there is danger or a panic to get hold of Mercedes.
  • Paul and Mercedes. Paul is dominating the frame again and is very close to her, staring intensely, he is above her in height and not much of Mercedes face is showing showing once again that she is vunerable around Paul.
  • 'Its Mercy, she's in danger!' MES of a hospital is shown through lino floors, the nurses costume/outfit and the green walls.
  • The MES of the flat shown through plants. Jacqui is running towrds the door and uis desparate to get to Mercedes.
  • Through editing you can see how things change.
  • This trailer only focuses on one storyline which is teh main/dominant storyline in Hollyoaks at the minute.
